Over the coming years, satellite navigation systems are set to become the norm in the world of railways. Other countries for example EU is also working and developing projects STARS, which will aim to bridge the gap between the European Rail Traffic Management System and the European Global Navigation Satellite System with the help of satellite navigation.

Its time to revolutionize the railway network, recently UK based telecommunication company Inmarsat implemented real-time tracking and communication for the Brazilian railway network.

The Italian railway network also implemented a satellite-based management system on its regional line in the month of August and makes history in the EU.

Inmarsat and other partners have partnered with the RUMO, Brazil’s largest train operator, to enable real-time tracking & communication for entire South America.
