Ecom Express, a top provider of technology-enabled end-to-end logistics solutions, has announced the opening of Imphal, Manipur, as the site of its first Northeast all-women Delivery Center.
The company said, “The pursuit of women’s economic independence is going to be the deciding aspect of an equal work environment, especially in terms of gender.”

The film actor Rajkumar Kaiku inaugurated the Ecom Express Delivery Center With this, the company is extremely proud to announce the launch of its first all-women Delivery Center in the northeast, situated in Imphal, Manipur. It is the sixth all-women delivery center in the country.
The delivery center’s services will cover the areas of Thangmeiband, Chingmei-rong, Lamphel, Lamphel Sanakeithel, Nagamapal, RIMS, RIMS Road, Thangal Keithel, North AOC, Khoyathong and Awang BOC.
“There has been a shift in how logistics is perceived today. I believe it is no longer about gender but the opportunities and mediums that are available to people.”- said co-founder Manju Dhawan.
“Traditionally logistics was perceived as a male-dominated industry. However, today there is a change in narrative and the increasing degree of women’s participation is encouraging and a testimony that the scenario is changing in India’’, Manju Dhawan added.
Addressing the gathering, Rajkumar Suraj Singh, Area Manager, North East, Ecom Express said, “The female-only staffed delivery center was established with the set goal of empowering women in the State.”
“Only women will be assigned the posts of Delivery Centre Head, Supervisor, and Delivery Associate. Highlighting that these types of delivery centers are known as “pink DC” or “all women delivery centers”, he added.
He added, “This Ecom Express delivery center is the second all women delivery center in the North East and the 6th one in India.”
The Area Manager further said, “In the initial stage, 15 women will operate the delivery center and more female employees will be hired as they have more expansion plans. The logistics sector in the delivery center will provide more amenities for the female staff. “
Moreover, he stressed the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. This is the second all-women delivery station to be opened in the North East. Earlier, Amazon India opened the first all-women delivery center at Champai in Mizoram.
